Hey there, 2022 was a tough year financially for many Canadians. Here are some of the facts: Food costs increased on average by over 10% from 2021.Interest rates have shot up significantly, and the overnight rate is closing out the year at 4.25%Home rental prices have skyrocketed all across Canada. As of the time of writing, the TSX index is down 9.19% year to date, and the S&P 500 index is down 21.13%. In short - it's become much more expensive to live in Canada, and many people have lost money investing. I've been hearing from many of my readers about their various struggles, and if you are one of them, my heart goes out to you. I can't say if 2023 will be much better. It depends on whether inflation will finally start dropping and if the markets will recover. While nobody can control certain economic events that occur, you can come up with a plan of action. If you're worried about the next year, here's an article I wrote for CTV News that highlights a 2023 financial action plan that you might want to give a read. On a personal note, I wanted to thank you for continuing to make Wealth Awesome a growing Canadian success story. More Canadians than ever visited Wealth Awesome in 2022, and I appreciate your support dearly. The one bright side of 2022 has been the reopening of the world to travel. I've been fortunate to live and work in five different countries this year: Georgia (the country not the state!), Thailand, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam. I hope you have a great holiday season, New Year, and a fantastic 2023!
