Last Time the Market Was This Expensive, Investors Waited 14 Years to Break Even

In 1999, the S&P 500 peaked. Then it took 14 years to gradually recover by 2013.

Today? Goldman Sachs sounds crazy forecasting 3% returns for 2024 to 2034.

But we’re currently seeing the highest price for the S&P 500 compared to earnings since the dot-com boom.

So, maybe that’s why they’re not alone; Vanguard projects about 5%.

In fact, now just about everything seems priced near all time highs. Equities, gold, crypto, etc.

But billionaires have long diversified a slice of their portfolios with one asset class that is poised to rebound.

It’s post war and contemporary art.

Sounds crazy, but over 70,000 investors have followed suit since 2019—with Masterworks.

You can invest in shares of artworks featuring Banksy, Basquiat, Picasso, and more.

24 exits later, results speak for themselves: net annualized returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.*

Myth: Pet insurance doesn’t cover everything

Many pet owners worry that insurance won’t cover everything, especially routine care or pre-existing conditions. While that’s true in many cases, most insurers now offer wellness add-ons for preventive care like vaccines, dental cleanings, and check-ups, giving you more complete coverage. View Money’s pet insurance list to find plans for as low as $10 a month.

  • Highlander Silver reported very strong step-out drilling results from the Bonita vein system at its San Luis gold-silver project in Peru, including 24.8m grading 7.43 g/t gold and 16.45 g/t silver and 40.4m grading 3.42 g/t gold and 16.93 g/t silver near surface. The new holes extend mineralization to the southeast, with the system still open in all directions, and support Bonita as a potential open-pit target complementing the nearby high-grade Ayelen underground deposit.

  • Rogers Sugar posted stronger annual sales and earnings and confirmed another quarterly dividend, but its share price still slipped 5.7% as investors reassessed the stock. Despite long-term gains, the company now trades at a P/E of 12.1x—higher than peers—prompting questions about whether the stock is overvalued, especially since a DCF model suggests its current price may sit above fair value.
